THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS: BOOK REVIEW

"I wish you could see yourself the way I see you." Book title: The Love Hypothesis Author: Ali Hazelwood Genre: Fiction, Contemporary Romance Overall rating: 4.5/5 As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships - but her best friend does, and that's exactly what got her into this situation. Where do I begin? Get Ali Hazelwood a damn prize because she created two characters who felt so real and who I cared for so quickly. To say I was invested is an understatement. I found Olive to be loveable, sweet, and a woman of integrity. And Dr. Adam Carlsen ... a true king. Grumpy with quiet confidence yet oh so kind to out heroine, charmed by her and unwittingly charming toward her, it's all very much a YES for me. Ali Hazelwood gave these two the time and attention deserved and gave the reader a really natural-feeling contemporary rom-com, while touching on relevant issues in the STEM community. THE SPANISH LOVE DECEPTION: BOOK REVIEW

"You feel complete in my arms. You feel like my home."

Book title: The Spanish Love Deception
Author: Elena Armas
Genre: Fiction, Contemporary Romance
Overall rating: 4.5/5

Lina is preparing to return to Spain for her sister's wedding .. alone .. and her shitty ex is the best man .. and he's recently engaged. She told her family she would be bringing her (non-existent) boyfriend, and the last thing she expected happens when her work enemy, Aaron, offers himself up to be her date.

I loved this book. It was just about perfect to me. I loved the characters and the progression of their relationship.
Lina is thriving in her career in a male-dominated field. She can be a little neurotic, but she holds her own against her adversaries including Aaron, at first.
Aaron likes to give Lina shit, but once they strike their deal, it takes very little to see the true Aaron and he is amazing. The level of supportive on this man and he gave me goosebumps right along with Lina.
One of my favorite things about this book is once they start to notice they like each other, they let it happen without too much denial, but it still unfolds gradually in this delightful slow burn. At times Lina's inner monologue got distracting and long, but if you are a slow-burn fan, it's definitely worth it.
My ratings haven't really been making sense to me lately, and they are solely based on vibes and whatever my insane mood of the day is, but I can say I really enjoyed being in this world and can see myself picking it up again one day. And Aaron definitely gets 5 stars.
