THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS: BOOK REVIEW

"I wish you could see yourself the way I see you." Book title: The Love Hypothesis Author: Ali Hazelwood Genre: Fiction, Contemporary Romance Overall rating: 4.5/5 As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships - but her best friend does, and that's exactly what got her into this situation. Where do I begin? Get Ali Hazelwood a damn prize because she created two characters who felt so real and who I cared for so quickly. To say I was invested is an understatement. I found Olive to be loveable, sweet, and a woman of integrity. And Dr. Adam Carlsen ... a true king. Grumpy with quiet confidence yet oh so kind to out heroine, charmed by her and unwittingly charming toward her, it's all very much a YES for me. Ali Hazelwood gave these two the time and attention deserved and gave the reader a really natural-feeling contemporary rom-com, while touching on relevant issues in the STEM community. NOVEMBER 9: BOOK REVIEW

"You can't leave yet. I'm not finished falling in love with you."

Book title: November 9

Author: Colleen Hoover

Genre: Contemporary romance, New adult fiction

Overall rating: 4/5

Fallon and Ben meet the day before she moves across the country to New York. There is an instant connection between them, and despite having no contact with each other, they decide to meet up on November 9 each year. Ben, an aspiring writer, writes a romance novel about the relationship he and Fallon have - yet Ben is hiding a dark secret that directly links both of their pasts.

I knew right at the beginning that this book would wreck me and it did.

Insta-love but then 5 years worth of slow burn that burned my heart. If you are a fairytale fanatic and don't want the pain, you should stop reading at 54%.

Because beyond that point I felt the ship started to sink. I physically wanted to shut and leave it there. I wanted to simply imagine in my imaginary world that Ben moved to NYC with Fallon and they lived happily. But no. It's Colleen Hoover and she can't do it without wrecking us. Her writing always amazes me and I truly have no idea how she captured such growth between two different people while having them meet only one day per year, and the story flowed so naturally. While reading this, it felt like no time passed between them in each section and both characters had such incredible development throughout the whole story. It was so easy to fall in love with both Fallon and Ben - their chemistry literally leaps off the page and I loved their humor and quick-witted banter that lightened up the mood. I always say this when I review a CoHo book but she can, truly, do no wrong.

Highly recommend, however when it comes to her, I always recommend.
