When Lily sprains her ankle at work, her employee calls in her physician brother, Ryle, for reinforcement. Except Lily has had a previous run-in with him before and while they want different things out of life, the attraction between them is undeniable.
Rile has demons from his past that cause him to lose control when he is triggered and this leads to several violent outbursts at Lily. Yet there love is so strong.
Lily is plagued with memories of her abusive father and fears that her relationship will that of her parents.
During this time a chance encounter reintroduces Atlas, her first love, into her life and his part in her story is integral.
This story can't be restricted to one genre. Is it a love story? Yes. But, it also is a lot of other things. Love triangle, Check. Childhood trauma, Check. Abuse, Check. Best female friendship, Check. Every possible human emotion, Check. Letters to Ellen DeGeneres, Check.
This book is beautiful, heart wrenching, sad, mindful, nurturing, and powerful.
This book will not only move you but leave you with a lesson for your own life.
