A THOUSAND BOY KISSES: BOOK REVIEW
"Live hard, love harder. Chase dreams, seek adventures ... capture moments. Live beautifully."
Book Title: A Thousand Boy Kisses
Author: Tillie Cole
Genre: Fiction, Romance
Overall rating: 5/5
A single kiss lasts a second. A thousand kisses last a lifetime. One boy, one girl. A bond forged in an instant that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever, or so they believe. When Rune returns to his native home, Norway from the sleepy town of Blossom Grove in Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield, he only has one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, his love, cut him off without a word of explanation when she promised to faithfully wait for him? For two years, Rune's heart was broken. But when he finds out the truth, the worst headache is yet to come.
This book broke my heart but in the most achingly beautiful ways. This is one of those books that take up a very special place in your heart even though it broke and smashed your heart into a million pieces. There really are no words that can describe the rollercoaster emotions I felt when I stepped into the world of these two best friends and soulmates. Their adventure to collect a thousand heart-bursting kisses and their undying love for each other make you ache for that once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. They drew strength from each other and they burned blindingly bright. This book totally captured my heart because for me it represents all the beauty that comes with love. It makes you love life and find joy in the simplest of things. The ending was absolutely perfect and beautiful and I couldn't be more satisfied.
This made me cry throughout the whole thing but it got worse for the last hour of the book, especially the last 3 chapters (including the epilogue). It hurt so bad.
The writing style, the plot, and the sadness all together make it a 5 star read. There's so much I want to say but I can't say anything without spoiling it because even though it's been out for a while, there's still a lot of people who haven't read it yet.
Oh and the author also includes a playlist of songs that helped to inspire the book as well which I think is awesome!
